Those visitors will then be given the opportunity to develop their tasting skills and expand their knowledge about the newest up and coming trends in the market.
Business Development Initiative
Vinexpo Hong Kong will continue the innovative platform of ‘One to Wine Meeting’ originally developed at Vinexpo Bordeaux 2015. The initiative will provide all participants with a complimentary, personalized business appointment service based on highly efficient and well-targeted pairings.
The Vinexpo Academy Returns
Vinexpo Academy’s ultimate goal is to inform and educate attendees of the latest trends in the market through a comprehensive schedule of 60 talks, exclusive tastings, Masterclasses, roundtable meetings and panel sessions. Specific events and guest appearances include Masterclasses taught by renowned wine experts Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve; a large-scale wine tasting hosted by Gambero Rosso; and special lectures will take place for visitors to learn about the market situation in China and the latest trends in the Australian market.
In the Spotlight
This year, all eyes will be on Italy, second only to France as the country most represented at the show, as the country will give further insight into the diversity of Italian wines and spirits production. Italian wines are the world’s top wine producer and exports have grown substantially, particularly in China and Hong Kong. Italian wines organisers plan to use this special spotlight treatment to further raise the profile of their wines and increase their market share.
For the Best of the Best
The gathering of producers and traders coming from all over the world will be immense this year with France, Italy and Spain as the top three contributors. As it is the number one wine supplier to Asian countries with 27.24 million cases imported in 2014, France will showcase its full range of wine from across the entire country. However, there will be a large amount of new exhibitors making their debut this year including A Canadian Exhibition Hall, New York Wine & Grape Foundation and Bessa Valley Winery of Bulgaria. Returning well-known names will include Accolade Wines, Larsen Cognac, Penfolds Winery, E & J Gallo Winery, The Champagne House, Louis Roederer and Marie Brizard.
Calculating the Results
The survey results of the Vinexpo IWSR are essential for key industry players to receive insight on global market trends, product category information by country as well as market forecasts for the next five years. Lectures and meeting sessions will be held at the end of the Expo in order to promote analysis of the results and research.
