The first gin to ever be distilled in Singapore has just picked up a Silver Award at The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
Tanglin Orchard Gin can now add the highly recognised accoladed of refinement, finesse and complexity, that this award represents, to their brand.
This year the SFWSC had more than 3,000 spirits were judged. Which was their largest number of entries they’ve ever had in their 19-year history.
Judged by blind tastings to guarantee fairness by an esteemed panel over 40 judges from all over the world only made the win sweeter. Further proving the winners were among the best examples of their categories.
The Gin features traditional ingredients such as Coriander Seed, Angelica Root, Amchoor, Vanilla Bean, Orange, and Dendrobium Nobile Lindl Orchid.
In Chinese texts from 400BC, this species of orchid was classed as ‘one of the nine immortality herbs’.
After launching in June 2018, the Orchid Gin also earned a Silver medal at the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).
Tanglin has since expanded their offerings by releasing a new variant, Mandarin Chilli Gin, as well as a limited edition Cranberry Gin that was sold exclusively at Habitat by Honestbee for Christmas.
