The biggest Macallan collection ever is set to auction at Hong Kong’s Dragon 8 event. Taking place on 27 February in the pool house at the Grand Hyatt, top brands with significant age statements will be up for bidding.
At the upcoming event, you’ll find the largest bottle of Champagne (a 30 liter Armand de Brignac – Ace of Spades), rare vintage sets as well as whisky casks from such distillers as Highland Park, Bowmore and Dalmore. One of the auction’s dominant themes is rare Scottish whisky, largely featuring Scottish distiller Macallan. This brand has achieved a reputable name and in 2015 sold a bottle of the Macallan Fine and Rare 1926 for an astonishing US$53,414.
“For anyone who loves Macallan whisky, this auction is definitely a must attend event,” says Dragon 8 Founder Gil Lempert-Schwarz. “From complete collections and rarities to casks, this concentrated quality has never been seen before in the city. In addition, with 15 to 20 million Hong Kong dollars in whisky on offer, many avid aficionados are going to have a field day. This is all from a very special Hong Kong Collection.”
While bidding takes place, guests can indulge in fine wines and food. Whether you’re looking for complete collections or scarce liquors by the cask, you won’t want to miss this event. “Our guests have really responded to this atmosphere and claim that they enjoy it more than what’s presented at some of the much larger auction houses,” say Lempert-Schwarz. “Instead of a stiff, at times suffocating atmosphere, they can relax and enjoy themselves on the day. A good setting, a fine dining atmosphere and a fun auction experience makes people want to come back. That’s what we’re offering.”
Join Dragon 8 in its latest auction on the 11th floor at The Grand Hyatt in Wan Chai beginning at 11 am on Saturday February 27th.
