The Singleton and Foxglove partner to bring London’s Best Whisky Bar to HK

Hong Kong venue Foxglove has partnered with The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Whisky to launch Black Rock – ‘London’s Best Whisky Bar’ at Frank’s Library. From July 22 and August 5, the Frank’s Library speakeasy bar inside Foxglove will be transformed to a Black Rock pop-up.

During the takeover, Black Rock will be offering not only The Singleton’s award-winning range of whiskies but a selection of some of the rarest and most sought-after single malt expressions from the Diageo single malt portfolio. The whisky list at Black Rock is organised around six descriptions instead of regions – balance, fragrance, fruit, smoke, spice and sweet. This allows the novice and whisky aficionado to find a dram.

In addition to The Singleton, offerings include whiskies such as Johnnie Walker King George V, Lagavulin, Glenkinichie, Cragganmore and the extremely rare Brora and Port Ellen. Three cocktails and three whisky highballs will compliment the drinks list.

Martin Newell, Senior Brand Manager for Diageo Reserve, John Walker & Sons and Malts said of the partnership: “Hong Kongers love their whisky and we are thrilled to partner with Frank’s Library to bring Black Rock to Hong Kong. The style of exploring and discovering whisky is unique and the seven-tonne oak table is unlike anything I have ever seen. Moet Hennessy Diageo is launching over 20 new single malts into the market this year and this is the place to come and taste and experience them all.”

Every detail of the London bar has been brought to Hong Kong: glassware, staff, the unique table, as well as a menu of perfectly paired whisky snacks. Food items include items such as soda bread and peat butter, and local Hong Kong flavours will feature on the menu. The menu will also raise money for Feeding Hong Kong charity, with $10 of each dish sold going to the cause.

Spaces are limited and bookings are essential for this event. Guests are able to choose to experience Black Rock by exploring the menu or taking a guided whisky tasting. There will be three tastings on offer each night, and the minimum spend is $500 plus 10% service charge. Of course, following each session guests will be able to purchase bottles or enjoy more drinks in Foxglove.
