For the 11th year running, the highly respected SIP Awards took place in Irvine, California this May. The consumer judge competition saw a new record of 997 spirit brands competing for six award tiers across 93 different categories by 146 judges.

Australian owned Sesión Premium Tequila, founded by Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall won an impressive five awards at the International competition. Entering its three award-winning flavours Blanco, Reposado and Mocha.

The consumer-judged competition is unaffected by industry bias as it allows the public to determine the winners for each category. Sesión Tequila was a clear favourite and stood out amongst other leading tequila brands.

It makes all the work we’ve put in with our team worth it. We’re waving the Aussie flag proudly that’s for sure!”

It has been an exciting year for the brand, as it partnered with communications powerhouse M&C Saatchi Group last December. The group has defined and refined the brand identity, driving its awareness into the United States.
