The Pontiac has officially turned two, celebrating with a two-day ‘Pontypalooza’ festival with guest bartenders and friends come down to celebrate the occasion. The two-day event featured Saturday July 29 at The Pontiac and Sunday July 30 on a boat.
Renowned bartenders including Jen Queen (Union, MR), Callan Green (Jack Rose, KL), Sym Phony Loo (Neon Pigeon, SG), Adam Westbrook (Skull Duggery, KL) and Liam Baer (Catchfly, SG) were in attendance, along with Beckaly Franks, Nickle Morris and The Pontiac crew behind the stick.
The venue also used the occasion to welcome and usher in bartender and industry expert Nickle Morris to the Pontiac family as the new bar manager. Together with Beckaly, Nickle has developed the latest menu for The Pontiac, which was unveiled on August 3.
The menu retains some of the venue’s showcase drinks along with new additions. A mainstay on the menu, The Hobnail, babe scotch, ginger, lemon, amaro averna, aromatic bitters (HK$88) now comes with the option to try a double (HK$160)! New additions include Joy For A Cowboy, bourbon, sezchuan vermouth, amer l’orange, fernet, coffee, tobacco (HK$88) and Too Many Devils, dry gin, raspberry eau de vie, falernum #2, melon, lime, cucumber, absinthe (HK$88). Others include Walking Backwards, vodka, amaro ginepro, peach, vermouth blanc, assam tea, soda water, bitters (HK$ 88) and Little Houdini, rye, casis, honey, mint, lemongrass (HK$88). Seis Brujas, ancho chile liqueur, pineapple, lime, markeza, curry, aromatic bitters (HK$98) with an option to go for a double (HK$180).
If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, try The Banana Panic, aperol, amantillado sherry, orange, lemon, sesame, isoamyl acetate (HK$98) comes with an option to make it a double (HK$180). For those liking a little bit of spice there’s the Hotline Miami consisting of white rum, tiger’s blood, watermelon, lemon, maraschino, thai spice, basil (HK$98) and a touch of east meets west with Holiday in Cambodia, blanco tequila, pisco, tamarind, lemon, cilantro, black pepper, milk clarified (HK$98).
As always, The Pontiac offer great deals for Ponty hour from 5-8pm daily, and they are now open seven days a week!
