Abby Wegener - Patron Perfectionists Cocktail Competition

Patrón’s Perfectionists Cocktail Competition is back again this year, this time with an even bigger global reach making the competition an even bigger accomplishment to win.

Mixologists and bartenders from up to 30 countries will be asked to create a cocktail worthy of a perfectionist.

Participants will be asked to demonstrate skill, expertise, attention to detail, respect for craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to perfection through their cocktail and presentation.

Entries for Australian and New Zealand will open online tomorrow (May 7th) until July 31st.

They’ll be judged on the cocktail’s appearance, originality, service and most importantly flavour.

The successful applicants will then compete in their regional heats and be finalised to six victors.

From these six, one will be crowned and follow in the footsteps of previous Australian champions such as Nick Cozens and David Robinson and Abby Wegener.

Abby Wegener said, “Representing Australia was truly an honour, not only was I able to demonstrate my skills in front of a panel of expert judges, I met 19 finalists from all around the world who inspired me with their passion for mixology and knowledge of tequila.”

“I encourage any bartenders who are thinking of entering to take a chance on the opportunity of a lifetime!”

The winner will travel to Mexico in January 2020 to contest the 22 finalists from 30 countries at the grand final hosted in the home of Patrón Tequila, Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico. Where the overall winner will be announced.
