Last night, Drinks World celebrated International Margarita Day a little early with Patrón Tequila in Sydney at Bondi’s, The Bucket List. Patrón showcased a handful of beautiful margaritas paired with some classic Mexican cuisine.
The cocktails made by the skilled Patrón mixologists were the: Patrón Classic Margarita, Patrón Lychee Margarita and Patrón Jalapeno Margarita.
Overlooking Bondi Beach, the venue fused beach decor with a tasteful Mexican twist. Making it perfect to appreciate the iconic cocktail. Patrón also served margarita oysters, deconstructed tacos and snapper ceviche.
The margarita has had countless variations and is also in the top ten most popular cocktails in the world, according to Business Insider.
It’s believed Carlos ‘Danny’ Herrera is to thank for creating the classic cocktail in 1938. So we raise a glass and say ‘salude’ in honour of him. Here’s a quick recipe to help you do so.

45ml Patrón Silver tequila
30ml Patrón Citrónge Orange
20 ml fresh lime juice
8 ml Simple syrup
Garnish: Use salt to rim the glassware
