Jameson Presents JJ’s Place – Festival of Whiskey & Live Music

Our good friends at Jameson are throwing a party for their friends by bringing whiskey, beer and music together at JJ’s Place for one weekend only in Sydney and Melbourne. Fair to say it will be the place to be! Sine Metu!

Jameson invites you and your mates to JJ’s Place, a one-day festival celebrating all things whiskey, beer and live music. Taking place in Melbourne on the 24th November and Sydney on the 1st December, experience live sets from Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, The Delta Riggs and The Gooch Palms, alongside whiskey tastings and live barrel charring with the Jameson Master Distiller Brian Nation and legendary Master Cooper Ger Buckley, as they launch the newest addition to the family – Jameson Caskmates IPA edition – whiskey aged in IPA beer barrels.

They’ve got the whiskey sorted, so Jameson have asked some of their mates, Leonard’s House of Love, Frankie’s Pizza and Continental Deli to come with Jamo-inspired ‘Mates Plates’ while long-time colla-beer-ators Young Henrys will be serving up an event-exclusive Irish Pale Ale to pair with Jameson Caskmates IPA for the perfect boilermaker serve.

Heading to Collingwood’s Easey Street Showroom on November 24 are Melbourne favourites Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, injecting JJ’s Place with a dose of their Australiana tinged surf-rock, that earned their debut album Hope Downs a triple j Feature Album. Bec Sandridge’s impeccable guitar prowess will invite you down the rabbit hole with a whiskey in hand and your best mate by your side, while three-piece punk outfit Bitch Diesel and resident PBS DJs will share their recipe for raw rock’n’roll, proving the ultimate tribute to mateship.

South Yarra institute of burger boxes and loaded fries, Leonard’s House of Love will pop up at Easey Street Showroom, bringing food and a doubles competition on their famed pool tables to JJ’s Place.

Leading the charge at Commune in Waterloo the following weekend on December 1 are The Delta Riggs, who returned this year with new single “Fake That”. Joining the outfit is Newcastle duo turned American favourites The Gooch Palms, with their entertaining as hell stage presence, while Sydneysider Sloan Peterson will bring her dreamy offerings of guitar pop mixed with garage rock. With Sydney trio Display Homes’ blend of pop and post-punk sounds and FBi DJs rounding out the all-star Jameson line-up, this is a day that will give you and your mates something to toast to.

The city’s power ballad and pizza capital, Frankie’s Pizza will move to Commune, seeing their legendary slices, whiskey and fresh apple cocktails, plastic picnic table-cloths and pinball machines leave the CBD for one-day-only. Continental Deli will serve an exclusive ‘Mate’s Plate’ of charcuterie and cheese, double sandwiches, as well as their classic Continental cocktails in a tin (with a Caskmates twist).

Jameson Presents JJ’s Place is this year’s festival home for celebrating the ingenious pairing of whiskey and beer, between sets from some of Australia’s best live acts. Entry to JJ’s Place is free. With your first drink on us, enter the ballot for your chance to attend with your mate (they’ll owe you one).

Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition

Since we swapped stout beer barrels with our friends at Franciscan Well Brewery in 2013 to create the Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition, and again with Young Henrys for an Australian limited edition in 2017, we couldn’t wait to try a new beer cask with our mates. Our whiskey makers have dipped their toes in the water (don’t worry that’s just figurative) once more to create Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition – blended Irish whiskey finished in IPA beer barrels. Best served neat, on the rocks, mixed with tonic or even paired with your favourite beer in a Boilermaker serve. Available from retailers, bars and restaurants nationwide.
