The elit by Stolichnaya art of martini competition has wrapped up in Sydney and Melbourne, with Igor Pachi of Sydney’s Assembly Bar and Blake Hall from The Store Room in Melbourne taking out their respective state competitions. The elit art of martini competition is the largest global city-based competition that celebrates the world’s best bartenders and their creation of the iconic vodka martini.
For Australia, the meccas of Sydney and Melbourne were selected to participate. The winners from each city will be flown to Ibiza this September to compete in the Global Final as part of the elit Vodka Ibiza Weekend 2017.
The competition kicked off with bartenders from both cities submitting their own martini recipe using elit. Those shortlisted were required to promote their signature elit martini drink in their venue and on social media for a period of two months ahead of the competition.
The finalists then competed in a their city final where there were required to not only recreate their elit martini but also compete in a mystery box round.

Tanya Mah, Stoli Brand Manager at island2island who was also a part of the judging panel said, “The calibre of finalists in both cities was exceptional and the competition was incredibly close. All the bartenders did an excellent job of putting forward creative and well balanced cocktails.
One of the oldest cocktails around, the martini is so versatile it’s only limited by your imagination. It’s the perfect drink for bartenders to show off their skills and their creativity.
