Applications are now open for the Hostplus Scholarship, supported by Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF).
The scholarship is open to Australian hospitality workers, aged between 22 and 35, and will afford one deserving applicant the opportunity to work in their trade across three different countries as well as receive year-long mentorship from an expert in their area.
Now in its fifth year, the scholarship is facilitated through Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s global network to place the successful applicant in three job placements specifically tailored to their career interests.
A panel of industry leaders will narrow down the applications to three finalists before the final judging process. The shortlist will then be invited to partake in an exclusive development day with Hostplus ambassador Shane Delia and his fellow industry partners and producers. A renowned chef and hospitality business owner (Maha and Biggie Smalls, Melbourne), Delia will speak to the finalists about his extensive travels and offer insight into his advancement in the industry.
From there, the panel will select the 2018 Hostplus Scholarship recipient.
Umberto Mecchi, judging panellist and chief marketing manager at Hostplus, said of the scholarship:
“This scholarship is an outstanding opportunity for rising stars across the breadth of the Australian hospitality industry. Hostplus is extremely proud to support this initiative that will create once-in-a-career connections and learning experiences.”
Applications close Friday 4th May at 5pm EST. To apply or for further information, head to the Melbourne Food and Wine website.
