Romance was born and Handpicked Wines collaboration

Continuing to push the boundaries of creativity, Handpicked Wines has teamed up with Australian fashion label Romance Was Born. In partnership, the teams have released another limited edition rosé from the winery’s Yarra Valley vineyard.

Handpicked Wines Rosé developed in the Yarra ValleyThe 2018 Handpicked Wines Rosé features a limited edition label by the award-winning Romance Was Born designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales.

The inspiration for the label comes from the designers ‘Cosmic Disco’ pieces. “We’re proud and excited to collaborate on this special label for the second year running. We love the synergy between wine and fashion and we love drinking rosé,” say, designers, Plunkett and Sales.

The rosé forms part of the Handpicked Wines Spring Summer 2018/2019 Collection, Odyssey, a diverse line up of lighter style fine wines perfect for summer drinking and developed in Handpicked vineyards in Victoria. To accompany the wines are two project wines out of Italy – a Pinot Grigio and an organic prosecco.

The rosé, which has been developed with Pinot Noir grapes and fermented on Viognier skins to add texture, will retail online for $28.99.

Handpicked Wines are also collaborating with Melbourne fashion label, Gorman. Handpicked winemaker Peter Dillon, is working closely with Lisa Gorman to create two wines that will embrace the fun and bold style of the brand.

The wines will be produced for a single runway show in early 2019 at Heide Museum of Modern Art in early 2019 as part of a Gorman retrospective, which celebrates 10 years of collaboration with Australian artists.

The latest collaboration is just two example of how Handpicked Wines show there is no limit to creativity and will continue to grow its presence in fashion and culture based partnerships. “We want to break down barriers for wine lovers to make wine more accessible through culture,” says Handpicked Wines Managing Director, William Dong. “Making great wines always comes first, and then challenging expectations of what is expected of a fine wine producer comes next. Doing meaningful collaborations with people and businesses we admire is all part of this.”
