The Bar Awards Cocktail Festival has returned to Bangkok for its second year.
The festival will run over five days from 21st February to 25th February, and will be held across some of the city’s top bars, with 20 cocktail events, 15 international guests shifts and a number of parties planned.
It will then travel to Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur before the final major awards ceremony, which recognises the best bars, bartenders and rising stars across Asia for the year.
The Bangkok festivities will start with the opening night party on 21st February at renowned cocktail bar, Rabbit Hole. Eight guest international bartenders will be showing off their skills behind the bar, including The Bar Awards 2017 winners Vijay Mudaliar of Native Singapore, CK Kho of Coley in Kuala Lumpur and Agung Prabowo of The Old Man in HK.
The following evening, head along to Eat Me at 7pm to hear from 11 tattooed bartenders about the inspiration behind their ink and how tattoo art is not dissimilar to cocktail art. Four of the bartenders will be serving up cocktails in a bid to raise funds for Sati, a charity improving healthcare and education across rural Thailand. Rumour has it you might even be able to pick up a tatt or two of your own…
On day four, cocktail master Hidetsugu Ueno, co-founder of #FindTheLockerRoom and owner of Bar High Five in Tokyo, will be hosting an intimate masterclass where he will talk about the history of Japanese drinks culture and serve five different classic cocktails. This exclusive event is ticketed, and guests will only be told the secret location upon purchasing tickets.
On the same day, Flow House will play host to the Cocktail Carnival, where guests can try cocktails made by 16 of the best bars in Asia, dunk their favourite bartenders in a dunk tank and even test their skills at indoors surfing.
The festivities will wrap up on the final night with The Bar Awards Bangkok, which will award the city’s best of the best in the bar scene.
