Anneliese Grazioli Crowned Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition Champion

Anneliese Grazioli from Hot Tamale in Darwin, was announced this years winner of the Australian and New Zealand Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition.

The finals heated up at Panama Dining Room in Fitzoy on Tuesday where over 100 media, trade and VIP industry guests cheered on and supported the five finalists. The talented bartenders presented their cocktail to an expert judging panel that consisted of Julio Bermejo, Director of International Marketing at Patrón Tequila, Matthew Sykes and Editor in Chief of Executive Style, Michael Harry.

Anneliese won over judges with her cocktail, ‘Over & Above’ that was based off a Manhattan with a twist. “My cocktail was inspired by anyone and everyone that goes over and above to share agave with the world. I used Patrón Añejo because I wanted the vibrant agave for the aged notes and mango backed up with some native botanicals to complement the agave” says Anneliese Grazioli. 

Anneliese is excited about the opportunities to come and is following in footsteps of her colleague from Hot Tamale, David Robinson who previously won the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition in 2017. 

Matthew Sykes comments on the competition; “2019 is a milestone year for the brand, in just five years Patrón Perfectionists has grown from a single country competition in the UK to now a program that spans six continents, and involves more than 32 countries. We are inspiring bartenders to create moments that really matter to consumers, through drinks experiences that surprise and delight them, by creating, then presenting amazing cocktails that showcase the premiumness and versatility of Patrón.“ 

Anneliese will head to Mexico in January 2020 to represent Australia on the global stage. 

Over & Above:

Garnish: 1 drop of lemon myrtle olive oil
Glassware: Nick & Nora

Ingredients:
40ml Patrón Anejo Tequila
25ml Mango skin vermouth
10ml Patrón Citrónge Mango
3 x Dash Martini bitter
Lemon myrtle olive oil

Method: Add all ingredients except for oil into a mixing glass over ice. Stir for 14-16 stirs. Strain into a frozen Nick & Nora glass.
