5 of the Best Classic Serves for World Gin Day


Forgive us, oh bartending gods, for we have ginned! With World Gin Day around the corner, we thought we’d remind you of a few classic gin serves that aren’t *yawn* the standard G&T.

Makes 1 drink

Glass: Martini

45ml Bombay Sapphire
20ml Fresh lemon juice
10ml Crème de Yvette
15ml Maraschino Liqueur

Method: Place all ingredients into the cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, and double strain into a chilled martini glass.

French 75
Makes 1 drink


Glass: Coupette
Garnish: Lemon twist

30ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
½ Lemon
15ml Sugar syrup
40ml Champagne

Method: Add 30ml of gin to a shaker. Muddle ½ lemon with 15ml of sugar syrup. Add ice and shake. Strain into a chilled coupette and top with Champagne.

Makes 1 drink

 Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lime twist

45ml Hayman’s London Dry
25ml Rose’s Lime Cordial
5ml Fresh lime juice (optional for taste)

Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a pre-chilled martini glass.

Dry Gin Martini
Makes 1 drink

Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lemon twist

60ml Botanist Gin
10ml Extra Dry Vermouth

Method: Stir ingredients with lots of ice until very chilled (approx. 18-20 times) and strain into a pre-chilled martini glass.

Makes 1 drink

Glass: Rocks
Garnish: Orange slice

45ml Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin
45ml Campari
45ml Red Vermouth

Method: Build spirits over ice in a rocks glass. Stir gently with a tall spoon.

*Tip You could also throw in a tiny teaspoon of bitters for extra complexity and depth
