Singaporean bartenders, it’s time to submit your applications for the National Cocktail Competition 2018!
Organised by the Association of Bartenders and Sommeliers Singapore in collaboration with ProWine Asia, the 30th instalment of the competition will take place over four days from 24th – 27th April.
The competition spans five categories that will test bartenders’ skills in cocktail creation, flair bartending, mocktail creation, speed bottle cap opening and tea cocktails.
To enter the latter three categories, bartenders must first compete in either the cocktail or flair bartending competitions.
Each contestant must create one original cocktail or mocktail (dependant on category) in order to compete, and their creation must incorporate at least 20ml of a spirit and/or product from the competition’s sponsors list.
In the tea cocktail category, entrants must include at least 45ml of one Dilmah Tea product to be eligible for competition.
First prize in the cocktail or flair bartending competitions consists of return flights to Tallinn, Estonia to compete in the IBA World Cocktail Competition 2018 with accommodation included, $1000 cash and a trophy.
The winner of the tea cocktail competition will take away return flights to Sri Lanka to attend the School of Tea 2019 with all accommodation covered, $500 and a trophy.
Finally, mocktail and speed bottle opening competition winners will each score $500 cash prizes.
