Five Irish Themed Tipples to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

No doubt many of you bartenders are gearing up for one of the busiest weekends of the year, with St Paddy’s Day fast approaching. Excited to get into the emerald spirit at your bar? Here are five Irish themed cocktails sure to delight any revelling lads and ladies that come through your door.

MIDORI FIZZ

GLASS: Rocks

INGREDIENTS:
30ml MIDORI
15ml Russian Standard Vodka
1 Lime wedge (squeezed)
Top with Fever-Tree Soda Water

METHOD: Build ingredients over ice, top with soda water and stir.

GARNISH: Lime wedge

IRISH COFFEE


GLASS: Coffee Glass

INGREDIENTS:
50ml Irish Whiskey
2-3 x Sugar cubes
2 x Serves of espresso
50ml Hot water
30ml Cream (float)

METHOD: Add all ingredients, except cream, in handled glass and stir. Float cream.

JAMES JOYCE

GLASS: Martini

INGREDIENTS:
50ml Irish Whiskey
15ml Rosso vermouth
10ml Dry vermouth
2 x Dashes Angostura Bitters

METHOD: Add ingredients to a mixing glass with cubed ice, stir and strain into a chilled glass.

GARNISH: Lemon twist


CLOVER LEAF

GLASS: Martini

INGREDIENTS:
50ml Gin
20ml Dry vermouth
20ml Lemon juice
4 x Fresh raspberries
10ml Raspberry syrup
1 x Egg white

METHOD: Add all ingredients to shaker. Shake hard for a minimum four minutes to ensure egg whites emulsify. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

GARNISH: Mint leaf and raspberries


APPLE JACK RABBIT

GLASS: Coupette

INGREDIENTS:
40ml Apple brandy
20ml Lemon juice
20ml Orange juice
20ml Maple syrup

METHOD: Shake and strain into a chilled glass.

GARNISH: Powdered cinnamon and sugar rim.
