At Singapore’s newest small bar, wine is the definite hero of the menu. With 3,000 bottlings of over 600 labels, Ma Cuisine carves out its place by offering one of the most extensive wine lists in Singapore.
A step away from the traditional wine bar, the ethos of this venue focuses on educating customers on diverse wine regions in an engaging yet unpretentious manner. Although there is a clear emphasis on French wines, guests will also be invited to experience bottlings from established wine regions in Italy, Spain, the USA, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, as well as little-known regions, such as Lebanon, Hungary and Portugal.
Owners Anthony Charmetant and Mathieu Escoffier have crafted this unique menu through their personal connections and established relationships with winemakers across the globe. Charmetant’s extensive wine knowledge guides customers through the lengthy list, whilst Escoffier has created a food menu of simple French fare to accompany the wine offerings.
The décor serves as a metaphor for the venue itself, harmonising a raw, industrial space with vintage French fittings.
With wines starting at $65 a bottle up to the $900 Hermitage ‘L’Ermite Blanc’ 2012 Maison Chapoutier, there is a wine for every guest and every occasion.
