For the fifth year running, Johnnie Walker has released its iconic Lunar New Year limited edition bottling of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
Part of the brand’s Pioneering Spirit Series, the annual release pays homage to the cultural significance of the Chinese Zodiac and the traditions of Asian culture.
The 2018 Year of the Dog bottle was created in collaboration with renowned Taiwanese artist, Page Tsou. It depicts the Johnnie Walker Striding Man celebrating the New Year together with his companion, a beautifully detailed Shar Pei.
The Shar Pei was chosen as it was originally bred for the Chinese nobility, and thus is a symbol of ‘rarity’, a key feature of the Blue Label blend. Only one in 10,000 whiskies distilled by Johnnie Walker are of the standard to be included in the Blue Label.
The bottle is decorated with an ancient Chinese triptych design of lanterns, fireworks and dancing dragons, delicately crafted from precious metals and a lacquered, ink-jet finish.
Each bottle comes in a collectible packaging that provides a front and back view of the bottle, and has a recommended retail price of US $258.00
