Attention Aussie bartenders! Entries for DIAGEO WORLD CLASS 2018 are now open!
One of the industry’s biggest annual competitions is back for its 10th year, and this time bartenders are challenged to embrace their WANDERLUST.
In the opening round, entrants must create a cocktail that takes drinkers on a journey across the globe.
The challenge has been divided into two categories, HOME – cocktails inspired by our Great Southern Land and AWAY – creations inspired by exotic destinations. Bartenders can choose to submit an entry for one or both categories.
To assist aspiring participants, Diageo is sending a team of industry professionals across the country on the first DIAGEO WORLD CLASS Studio Tour to deliver training programs.
One such Diageo representative on her way to help competitors reach new heights is the newly appointed DIAGEO WORLD CLASS Australia Ambassador, Krystal Hart.
“I’m excited to mentor Australia’s rising bartenders on their WORLD CLASS journey,” says Krystal.
“It’s not just a competition, it’s a chance to take their career to the next level and to be challenged creatively and professionally. Having been a finalist myself, I can attest that WORLD CLASS has helped shape my career.”
The winner of the national competition will be flown to Berlin in October to compete at the global finals against more than 60 other nations.
They will also be taken on a cocktail tour of Europe, commencing in Berlin after the tournament and travelling across the continent, stopping in at world famous bars and distilleries.
Entries will close on Monday 12th February and can be submitted via the WORLD CLASS website.
