The Winners of The Bar Awards 2017 Announced

The final segment of The Bar Awards have taken place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Despite being the first time the city has hosted the event, the awards were heavily supported by industry members throughout the region, with the bar communities of Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok coming out in force.

“It was great to see so many people from other bar communities across Asia making their way to Kuala Lumpur for our last awards of the year,” said Tron Young, one of The Bar Awards’ editors.

“We’ve always wanted to throw great parties and bring people from all over the world together. Inspire and be inspired is one of our core values and we really felt we have done that in 2017.”

The Kuala Lumpur event was the final of a series of awards held across Asia, with instalments in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok held earlier this year. In each city, the festivities included educational initiatives, guest shifts, BBQs, picnics, parties and nightcaps. The Bar Awards hope to continue broadening their reach into the future, with plans to add Macau to the Hong Kong leg and Penang to the Kuala Lumpur awards.
