Ballantine’s, the premium Scotch whisky brand, have unveiled their first ever 15 Years Old Single Malt series. As the fourth largest whisky market in the world by value and with a thriving Single Malt market, Taiwan was chosen as the country for the official launch of the series.
The three unique expressions come from three of the brand’s distilleries: Glenburgie, Miltonduff and Glentauchers. The Glenburgie Single Malt has strong flavours of fruit and a honeyed sweetness, with aromas of ripe red apples and pears. It has a full, smooth texture and a long finish. The Miltonduff Single Malt has a floral flavour with subtle notes of cinnamon spice and liquorice. It’s extremely smooth and has a lingering, warm finish. The Glentauchers Single Malt tastes of delicate berries and barley sugar sweets with a lush finish. All are bottled at 40% ABV.
Each expression is adorned with a label that draws inspiration from Ballantine’s home of Scotland, and depicts the natural stone on each of the distilleries.
Drinks World’s drinks curator, Ben Davidson, was in attendance for the global unveiling of the first new releases for the Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky brand in it’s long and storied history. Ben said: “It was amazing to see the reception of these whiskies into a market that has an incredible love and thirst for good single malt Scotch whiskies, further enhancing the Ballantine’s brand as an innovator, by allowing consumers to enjoy the foundations of Ballantine’s in an idiosyncratic and deconstructed way.”
The release is being celebrated by the installation of an interactive experience for the public in the heart of Taipei until the 1st of October.
