Island2island has selected the 10 Australian bartenders who will battle it out at the Australian Preliminary Final of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge. The Preliminary Final takes place at the Waterslide in Melbourne on August 28, where bartenders will vie for a place in the National Final, giving them the opportunity to be appointed the Australian Angostura Brand Ambassador.
Angostura Brand Manager, Tanya Mah says “The calibre of bartender entering this year’s competition has been outstanding. At this stage of the competition, we are looking for the top five that best demonstrate their capacity to create well-balanced, creative cocktails. They will also need to think about the fact we are looking for someone to represent Angostura as an ambassador, so professionalism and presentation will be key.”
The prize up for grabs for the National Final, to be held in September, is not only an AUD$10K in cold hard cash, but the winner will go on to represent Australia at the Global Final during Carnival in Trinidad early in 2018. They will then battle the worlds best for a further US$10K prize and the chance to become Angostura Global Brand Ambassador.

- Emma Borelli, Taxi Riverside (VIC)
- Chris Brittain, Therapy Cocktail Bar (SA)
- Michael Chiem, PS40 (NSW)
