Elephant Grounds, a brand created to bring coffee culture to Hong Kong, is now boasting five outlets after opening its latest venue nestled between Hong Kong’s SoHo and Mid-Levels districts.
Elephant Grounds Mid-Levels (EGML) has a sophisticated brew bar, sure to impress coffee aficionados and weekend sippers alike, including a Siphon brewer, an AeroPress, a Clever Dripper and a pour-over station with a Chemex brewer and a Marco Über Boiler.
Guests to EGML can sit by the bar and watch passionate baristas handcraft their drinks; or take to the upper loft space, beautifully transformed into an eclectic library adorned with books, magazines and antiques carefully selected by curator Kevin Poon.
The space is also ideal for intimate private events, the loft doubling as a mini-theatre complete with a vintage Altec Lansing speaker system.
The back of the café hides an alley garden with a living green wall and cosy seating, the perfect sanctuary from the busy city.
Hong Kong-based artisan, Start From Zero, has handcrafted the elegant pine timber carpentry and furniture throughout the venue; and the iconic wooden signage by Japanese craftsman Koji Muramatsu.
A variety of single origin coffee beans is available at EGML, as well as the brand’s signature OG Blend. There’s also an all-day breakfast menu, a brunch and lunch menu, and an exclusive dinner menu with bespoke creations by Head Chef Miles Oki, formerly of Arcane Hong Kong and PiDGiN Vancouver. Menu highlights include the Kale Quinoa Bowl, Swordfish Carpaccio, Paccheri Alla Vodka and Miso Black Cod.
