The Diageo RESERVE spirits collection and Quinary, one of the World’s Top 50 Bars are hosting a world-exclusive pop-up by drinks industry legend Angus Winchester, where Quinary will be turned into Angus’ latest venture in New York, The Embassy.
The Pearl of the Orient is getting a chance to preview the bar from design to drinks before it opens in the old Nassau Brewing Company building in Brooklyn, NY. The pop-up runs from May 15-17, 2017.
Antonio Lai, co-owner and founder of Quinary said, “I am incredibly excited to see Quinary transform into The Embassy, and perhaps even provide some input into the finished New York version. I’ve been a friend/admirer/colleague of Angus Winchester for nearly 15 years and while I consider myself well-travelled, Angus is a truly global figure and the opportunity to sit and sample his handpicked favourites – his travels in a glass – will be a unique world-class experience.”
With over 29 years in the industry, Angus Winchester has won several accolades including Best International Brand Ambassador in 2012 at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, The Golden Spirit Award at Tales in 2014 and Best Bart Mentor at the 2016 Spirited Awards.
For the event, The Embassy will offer an eight-drink menu, and feature drinks such as “Mr Hoshi’s Dry Martini” from Japan, “The Winchester” created be renowned New York Tiki expert Brian Miller, and a ‘break even’ bottle of rare limited edition single malt whisky where guests can purchase a dram at cost price.
The Residence is also doing a pop-up at Quinary, offering a six drink, 75-minute degustation hosted by Winchester. Guests will be offered a selection of food that also showcases traditions and rituals of different drinks cultures.
The Embassy and The Residence will open inside Quinary from May 15-17 and run from 5pm-1am. All bookings inside The Residence will include the set menu at $500 per person.
