Lord Nelson Brewery is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month with the canning of its seasonal ales, starting with the hugely popular Quayle Summer Ale and its newest experimental ale, the Backburner IPA.
The Lord Nelson Brewery is Sydney’s oldest continually licensed hotel and Australia’s oldest pub brewery, housed in a stunning heritage building in The Rocks, Sydney.
This year, the brewery is honouring the main tenet of its brew philosophy – sessionability – with the new can serves.
Whilst tradition and history are important elements to Lord Nelson, there can be no doubt that an Australian Summer essential is beer in a can.
Bright, refreshing and tailored to the Aussie Summer, the Quayle sits at 4.2% ABV and is almost as old as the brewery itself. The new format means the season classic is even more transportable and sessionable than ever.
The Backburner IPA is a newcomer to the range, but has been sitting on Lord Nelson’s “backburner” for a while. The brew sits at 5.7% ABV and boasts bold malt and hop flavours, made with Belgian Wit yeast and added coriander and curacao orange. True to Lord Nelson style, the Backburner IPA has no added sugar or preservatives.
