The 12 finalists will now compete at the World Class semi-final on Tuesday, May 16th at Honi Honi from 12pm-4pm. The semi-final has two challenges for the bartenders the Tanqueray Aroma Challenge and the Zacapa Rum Challenge. The Tanqueray Challenge requires bartenders to create a cocktail that employs the aromas of Tanqueray, which the Zacapa Challenge tasks bartenders with deconstructing the five tastes – sweet, salty, bitter, sour and savoury. The top six winners will be announced by Ron Zacapa Master Distiller and judge, Lorena Varquez.
The final of World Class for Hong Kong and Macau will follow on, with the top six finalists competing at Taikoo Place on June 12 and 15, with the winner going on to represent the region at the Global Finals in Mexico in August.
